SPACEBAR SPEED TEST
Benchmark your spacebar tapping frequency and stamina. Select fixed intervals or open infinite mode with real-time SPS telemetry.
PRESS SPACEBAR OR TAP THE KEY TO START TIMER
YOUR SPEED: 7.2 SPS
Excellent pace. You completed 36 spacebar presses in 5 seconds.
How to use the spacebar counter
Choose a 1, 5, 10, 30, or 60 second test. Press and release Space to start; the first press counts. You can also tap the on-screen key, including on a phone. Continue until the result appears. Holding Space does not add repeated presses because the browser’s key-repeat events are ignored. This filtering does not verify whether input came from a human or an automated source.
What does SPS mean?
Spaces per second is the number of accepted presses divided by the test duration. If you make 40 presses during a ten-second test, your final result is 4 SPS. The live display uses a recent two-second window and may differ from the final average, especially at the beginning of a run. Compare final results from runs of the same length.
Timed tests and infinite counting
A timed run stops accepting presses at its selected deadline. Infinite mode continues counting without a final timed result until you reset it or choose another mode. Use infinite mode to track repetitions at your own pace; use a timed mode when comparing speed.
Best scores and sharing
For each timed duration, the highest press count is saved in the current browser when storage is available. Best scores are not synced across devices and may disappear if you clear site data or use private browsing. Copy your final result if you want to keep a separate record. Avoid refreshing or switching modes during a run.
Why is the counter not responding?
Close the keyboard shortcuts dialog and move focus away from links, buttons, and other controls. Space activates a focused control normally rather than adding a global count. If physical key presses are missed, compare with taps on the on-screen key. To test a mouse button instead, use the CPS test.
